NEW SONG: Girls Aloud - Beautiful Cause You Love Me

Image
Couldn't wait one more second to tell you what happened on my Tuesday morning.  Today Girls Aloud were going to premiere a new track from their second Greatest Hits collection, TEN (which I'm definitely going to review as soon as possible): Beautiful Cause You Love Me . 11.30 A.M. I'm at work with my iPhone connected to Radio 2 waiting for it. From what I read about the lyrics, this is going to be all about Nicola.  Here we go. The DJ says the magic words and the music plays. Soft ballad, very classic, Cheryl starts and Nicola follows to the chorus. Lyrics are close to depression: the world could call me ugly but it doesn't matter because your love makes me feel beautiful. That's the summary of the feeling behind the song. Then Sarah, then Kimberley, the song is very fluent. A classic slow and depressing ballad. I am indeed depressed. I like the song. But... ...where the f*ck is Nadine? Just some background vocals? Oh no, no way you're going to

Delta Goodrem - Child Of The Universe

Image
Introduction. After a waiting of almost 5 years, the new album of Australian popstar and “The Voice” judge Delta Goodrem has been released on the 26th October. “Child of the universe” is the end of a long recording and producing process but after several delays (the album was expected in late 2010, then in 2011), it saw the light, and it represents the natural evolution of Delta’s sound. The debut album “Innocent Eyes”, with more than 1.200.000 copies sold in Australia and 15xPlatinum certifications, consecrated Delta as one of the most talented and famous pop voices in Australia. Her music has always been really enjoyable, pop, sometimes even with seasoned with “country” moods, always accompanied by her beautiful and powerful voice and her piano. During her musical career, Delta slowly left the “girl next door” songs and went through a slow but constant “modernization” process, making Delta slowly exploring more mature sounds, themes and tones.

NEW: Christina Aguilera - Lotus

Image
Introduction Huge expectations for the new album by Christina Aguilera, Lotus is finally here for the fans and for the haters. This time, due to the poor success of her previous work Bionic , miss Aguilera decides not to wait too long before recording her follow up album. A lot of different inspirations, a new sound, more maturity in lyrics, well we all know these things, she keeps saying that all the time, isn't she? Okay, now it is time to have a listen to it. Here we go. Lotus

Lawson - Chapman Square

Image
Introduction It is not easy to review a debut album from a new group, and this is the time for the newly British boyband Lawson. Not a typical vocal group,Lawson is composed of Andy who provides also the vocal and Joel, Ryan and Adam who play the instruments. Apparently, they are finally getting to the spotlight after two years of supporting bigger acts through the U.K. And here they go with her debut album Chapman Square.

Leona Lewis - Glassheart

Image
Introduction X Factor global sensation star is finally back with her third studio album, after so many controversies and a delay of almost one year after the failing supposed-to-be lead single Collide in summer 2011. This is by far the most delicate moment in Lewis' carrier since her sophomore album Echo didn't confirm the extremely high expectations due to the huge and worldwide success of her debut album  Spirit and Bleeding Love . The intention is quiet clear: trying to move Leona from the power-ballad singer style to dance diva (same old story). The first attempt didn't convince the public, moreover the drama about the copyrights with DJ Avicii didn't help Leona to break the charts with her very first dance track. The label then decided to get back to the studio, re-work on the album (but unfortunately not on the “what-the-hell-is-that” type of cover) and come back. Here what I think about the work: Glassheart .
